Tau is situated on the far northern border of South Africa, in a beautiful area known as the Groot Marico, in the Madikwe Game Reserve. There are frequent sightings of elephant, white and black rhino, lion, cheetah, spotted & brown hyena, buffalo, leopard, zebra, endangered wild dog, giraffe, ostrich and warthog. Various antelope species also come to drink - Impala, springbok, kudu, waterbuck, wildebeest, eland, blesbok, nyala and the even elusive sable.
I managed to see the Sable Antelope (Hippotragus niger), species number 12.
Remote mammalwatching - what does it mean? You'll probably know what mammalwatching means - yes, it's watching the wild mammals i.e mammalwatching. But remote mammalwatching? Well, in remote mammalwatching you don't need binoculars, thermal monocular nor camera, but you must have internet connection and TV to watch mammals.
